Five things I learned at the new Hydrogen Innovation Centre

The North West of England has a brand-new state of the art hydrogen innovation facility at the Manchester Metropolitan University. It is still being unboxed and it’s directors are actively reaching out to local business and entrepreneurs for their involvement.

Hydrogen stored in a fuel cell is great for ‘heavy lifting’ applications and well suited to transportation such as trains and heavy goods vehicles. It is beyond the development stage and being rolled out by companies such as Hyundai

The only ‘pollution’ from hydrogen vehicles are heat and water, albeit the water is in de-oxygenated form

Hydrogen could be a fantastic enabler for renewable energy; enabling it to add to battery and hydro electrical energy storage

Even the exchequer may be happy as, by producing a tangible ‘fuel’, for transportation, it can be taxed!
